Wednesday Core Class
-
When: 6:30 pm
-
Where: Online (via Zoom)
-
What: Hour-long core class
Our core muscles support our every movement, so it should come as no surprise that runners require a strong core for better stability and balance. Regular core exercises will help the muscles work better in tandem when running, which in turn will provide greater stability, reduce energy expenditure, and help to prevent potential injuries.
For this reason, we offer an online core class to our members every Wednesday via Zoom. When you join the club, you’ll have access to the recurring Zoom link to the class, which also appears in the reminder for each class in Spond.
In each class, we do four sets of repetitions of exercises that aim to build strength in the core muscles (e.g. glutes, abs, obliques). The leader will demonstrate the exercises, you can ask them any questions if you’re unsure or need to alter the exercises for whatever reason. We round off the class with another key component of running strength and stability – stretching!
It may not be an activity that you'd expect a running club to offer, but it’s an enjoyable way to become a stronger runner. Join our core class and feel the benefits for yourself!
