We’ve been running with pride since 2005, and as we approach our 20th anniversary this May, we'll be running into the future in style! Following nearly two years of hard work behind the scenes, as well as consultation with club members, we’re proud to share our new kit and logo design.
Behind the design
The bold new design is inspired by the work of contemporary designers in Manchester, with hints to both the original Manchester Frontrunners club kit, as well as our status as a running club for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies with the rainbow running tracks on the sides of the panels. We also have a refreshed version of our original mascot Billy (named after the protagonist in Patricia Nell Warren's groundbreaking gay sports novel The Front Runner).
Many thanks to our kit subcommittee for all their work from summer 2023 up until now, in particular our lead designer and club member Josh Jackson for his unique kit redesign. Find out more about his work here.
Where can I get this kit?
We’ll be rolling out our kit over the next few months, and we can’t wait to wear it with pride! We'll be starting with the roll-out of the main vest, and introducing other items (T-shirts, hoodies etc.) in time. And remember: if you join our club as a paid member, you’ll be entitled to a free running vest like the one pictured! 🎽 Find out about joining our LGBTQ+ running club in Manchester here.
