Who are MFR?
Manchester FrontRunners (MFR for short) is a part of International Frontrunners, a network of Gay and Lesbian running clubs all over the world. Find out more about the international network of Frontrunners running clubs by clicking on their web site: www.frontrunners.org. The Manchester club was formed in 2005 and has been growing ever since. We now have around 40 members, of all ages, sizes and abilities.

Training and Races
We actively encourage and welcome new members, no matter what level you are at, be it walking, jogging, running, sprinting or even training for your umpteenth marathon, we genuinely have people at all abilities, so you'll easily find someone to help you move to that next goal! Check out the details of our weekly training sessions here: training sessions
Once you feel ready (and believe me it doesn't take long!) you'll want to be taking part in your first competitive run, otherwise known as a race! (..oh yes you will!). MFR keeps track of upcoming local races and we usually have a few members taking part in the most popular races, the more established runners always providing great motivation for those just starting out! (or great competitionfor those already a dab hand). Have a look at the upcoming races here:
The social side!
Not only are we a great running club, but we are also a great social club! After both weekly training sessions we reward ourselves (amply) with a combination of food and drink, venues can change, but the format remains the same. Run a lot, eat and drink a lot! We also arrange special social outings and taster sessions. These can be anything from having a go at the Velodrome to a weekend camping and Go Ape. Have a look at our socials here:socials
